Code design Round -> Asked to design router class which takes a route as string and does some action with mapping the correct operation. Ask clarifying questions write the tests first, approach abstracted blueprint and then finally implement the logic. I used my own VS code with screen share as I had node and linter installed.
Data structures round -> Focuses on choice of correct data structure for the problem. Design a directory structure and sort by size of inner folders like windows explorer. Again the same write test, abstract the blueprint of prototype methods and implement two functions total size and sort.
System design -> Design a web crawler which stores the result(hyperlinks of image tags) and using api can request latest job output say a post call with host name. I designed a Async system which stores result using a kafka topic per host. Crawling could be done from node script or spring boot jar and feed the output to kafka topic. Also can have duplication avoiding mechanism, graceful failure of jobs etc Overall this round lasted 20 minutes over the scheduled time as interviewer was quite interested in the solution
Overall good process also it was incremental i.e. previous round's result affected candidacy for next round(except 3 and 4 which happened back to back).
Rejected with reason that they got another candidate from Netherlands will be glad to consider if similar profile is open again. Hiring was team specific(Developer experience team)
