What is NSR?

  • National Skills Registry is a NASSCOM initiative to have a credible information repository about all persons working in the industry.
  • National Skills Registry (NSR) consists of details of the Professionals and their background check information. It includes personal, academic, and employment details of individuals employed / to be employed in the industry.
  • These details are directly used by the Employers to authenticate the background information of the Employees.

How to Register?

  1. Open NSR Website portal.
  2. On New user Click register now.
  3. It will open a new page. At the bottom of the page, select I agree option and click submit.
  4. It will open the next page where you have to fill.
  5. If you have been issued an offer letter by a company and asked to complete NSR registration, Click My Future employer.
  6. Next, you need to fill your personal info, your address, other info such as mobile no, E-mail I’d, PAN no.
  7. Next, you need to create a login id, login password, transaction password, security questions.
  8. Next, enter the captcha and click Save and Continue.
  9. you will provide an 'Acknowledgement Number'. Please record & remember this acknowledgement number.
  10. In the next page, you need to enter academic details, any professional courses and Technical certifications. Then click continue.
  11. Next, you need to fill the previous employment details. If you are a fresher click No option and click continue.
  12. Next, you will need to verify your details. And then click authenticate and make payment.

Here there are two ways to authenticate yourself:

  • Aadhaar based KYC (completely online process).
  • Registering your fingerprint data by visiting a Point of Service (POS) center.

Aadhaar Based KYC:

  1. Your mobile numbers need to be registered with Aadhaar.
  2. You will need to download your Aadhaar Paperless Offline e-KYC. Offline e-KYC website.
  3. After Downloading upload the same in the NSR website and enter the 4-digit password while downloading aadhaar. Click next.
  4. Next, you need to check your Aadhaar info and need to upload your PAN card Image (Mandatory) and your photo (Optional).
  5. Then click make payment and select your membership and Make a payment.
  6. Your ITPIN will be generated within 1 - 2 hrs. The ITPIN will be sent to you via Mail and SMS.
  7. Payment is made online mode which includes a registration fee of Rs.300, annual maintenance fee (based on membership option selected).
  8. Procedure for Downloading Offline e-KYC is given below.

Registering your fingerprint data by visiting a Point of Service (POS) center:

  1. Here you find two payment modes.
    1. Online - Then you need to pay NSR registration fee of Rs. 300, annual maintenance fee (based on membership option selected)
    2. Offline - Pay cash at POS centre option, then you need to pay NSR registration fee of Rs. 300, an annual maintenance fee of Rs. 100.
  2. Visit your nearest POS within 50 days from the generation of acknowledgement number. Link for the POS Center.
  3. Documents Need to carry with you while going.
    1. Acknowledgement Form printed from NSR with your Passport size Photograph pasted and duly signed by you
    2. Proof of identity - either of Employee ID card / Driving License / PAN Card/ Voter ID Card / Passport / College ID card (less than one-year-old)
  4. POS will scan your fingerprints, signature and photograph.
  5. Your IT Professional Identification Number (ITPIN) will be generated after upload of your transaction by the POS centre.
  6. Your ITPIN will be generated within 2 - 3 days. The ITPIN will be sent to you via Mail and SMS.
  7. Registration Fee (Rs. 400 + Applicable tax to the POS)

Now you can start accessing your profile. Please review your profile regularly and keep it updated. You can avail of all other NSR services like authorizing companies to view your profile, view the status of such authorization, ordering background check report on your profile, etc.

Procedure for Downloading Offline e-KYC:

  1. After opening the website. Enter your Aadhaar Number.
  2. Then Enter the security code. And click send OTP.
  3. After that enter, the OTP received on your mobile. create a 4 digit password to access your Aadhaar.
