Education : 3rd Year CS Student at Tier 2 College
Position : SDE Intern
Location : Gurgaon, India
Date : September 2022
Expedia visited our campus in the first week of September 2022.
The Process structure was as follows -

Cappfinity Psychometric Test
Online Coding Assessment
Two Interview Rounds
Around 370 out of 1000 students were shortlisted for the Cappfinity Psychometric Test on the basis of their resumes.

It was a 45 mins unique test consisted of situation based questions. It was fun to do. I really appreciate Expedia that they took this type of test as all the other big MNCs which visited our campus earlier only had the normal Coding OAs.

After this test, around 220 students were shortlisted for the Online Coding Assessment.

The online coding assessment had 6 MCQs related to Java, and Data Structures and Algorithms, 2 Coding questions.

The question involved array which required good observation skills. I will rate it LC Easy-Medium. The solution was simple but figuring out might take time.
The question involved array, hashing and bit parity. I will rate it LC Medium-Hard.
Around 20 Students were shortlisted on the basis of the previous Tests.
The 2 Interview Rounds were non eliminating.

Round 1 - Problem Solving and Algorithms + Behavioral

The interviewer introduced himself followed by my introduction. I was given the choice to choose my preferred data structure. 1 LC Easy-Medium question was asked on my preferred Data Structure. I was able to solve it quickly. The next question was a LC Medium which wasn't based on my preferred Data Structure. The interviewer was very friendly and supportive, guided me till the end until i got the most optimised solution for the same.

Round 2 - Data Structures + Behavioral

I was nervous, and the interviewer calmed me down and asked me some behavioral questions. As the name suggests, I was asked to design a Data Structure (LC Easy-Medium) followed by optimisation. There were some follow-ups which made the question LC Medium-Hard I suppose. I was asked to design some new functions and modify the Data Structure accordingly. Later we discussed about some other existing Data Structures and their implementation, followed by some more behavioral questions. I also had discussions related to my tech stacks and core CS concepts. In the end, we had a nice conversation about Expedia, their work culture and experiences.

Results were out the same day and around 10 students including me were offered SDE Intern. The whole panel was very friendly and supportive. The interviews were conducted in-person at our campus. I was really nervous but the interviewers were so calm and friendly, it seemed like a healthy discussion instead of an interview. They majorly focus on how you solve, you think and optimise the code rather than you solve it correctly.

LC : 400+
Easy : 120+
Medium : 250+
Hard : 40+

Neetcode 150 helped me alot to revise and had a major impact on my interview performance.
