Good things :
1)Have good amount of quality-algorithmic problems for practice (mainly past cookoff and lunchtime contests)
2)In codechef discuss forum , you are much more likely to get help regarding a coding problem or about some problem related with your code .
Bad things :
1)Very bad contest management : They always have server problems in their short-rated contests . From January-2020 till January-2021 , they have had server issues in atleast 10 contests . Their admin(s) keep saying that they are using new technology and this time servers will be better . But what always happens at the end is : Their problems dont load during contest and you get verdict about your solution an hour later . Participants are very frustrated and they have shown their anger at many places online . Most blame unacademy acquiring codechef . As their main focus is selling their over-expensive competitive programming courses via unacademy rather than fixing their website so people can do competitive programming . Their website is being called trash by most people nowdays.
2)Too much cheating : In most of the long challenges , 25,000+ people participate , and 75% of them are always found cheating as 10 days are enough for them to get solutions to questions via youtube, friends, telegram, etc. No actions are taken by codechef to stop the mass cheating . Cheaters upload youtube solution-videos of problems on 2nd-3rd day of the contest and by the 10th day, there are 25,000+ views on those videos. Codechef rating has lost its value . Most of the cheating is done , so students can falunt their rating on linkedin , and get recruiters to notice them . But they still fail in interviews .
3)Admins/Moderators disctatorship : These people on codechef ban anyone when a person tries to criticize codechef or criticize them .
4)They never take countless feedback(s) given by people to them . Their only aim is too earn as much money as possible for unacademy by selling bad cp courses for 30,000 INR .
