Work Type: Involves lot's of Machine Learning, Analytics and good System Architectural Knowledge.
Base salary: 42 LPA
SignIn 1st year: 30 LPA
SignIn 2nd year: 22 LPA
Relocation: 1.5LPA(Standard)
Stock bonus: 37 units (740 after split) - Normal Amazon vesting schedule(1 Year 5%, 2 Year 15% then 20% every 6 months)
Total comp for 1st year (Salary + Bonus + Stock): ~ INR 77,00,000
Average projected comp for each year (Salary + Bonus + Stock): ~ INR 81,00,000
Previous compensation: 14.2 LPA

P.S. I am familiar with Python mainly so I gave all my rounds in Python only.

 

This was the CTC given without any competing offers. During offer discussion HR gave initial offer for 54 LPA, but since my interview feedback was very good he raised it to 65 LPA when I asked if he could bump up the numbers(some back and forth discussion). After a lot of discussion of around ~1.5 hr he agreed to raise it to 80 LPA average package. This was pretty surprising to me as I was expecting a severe lowball because of my current compensation. From my experience, HR had more flexibility in increasing the Joining Bonus and stocks compared to Base.

 

Looking at recent compensation for Amazon SDE 2, it seems they are paying deserving CTC to candidates no matter how low is their current CTC.

 

Interview experience: Standard SDE 2 process + 1 extra ML round as team requires good ML knowledge to work on projects. 1 OA + 1 DSA + 1 Hiring Manager(system design HLD) + 1 ML Round(This too was Hiring Manager but with sister team's Manager) + 1 dedicated coding standard round + 1 Bar raiser(LLD) . And a lot of LPs in all rounds. Prepare a lot for LP questions and also be ready to answer any questions based on the scenarious you put forth. They drilled down deep into all the cases I mentioned for LP.
