How will you make an impact in this role?

How will you make an impact in this role?

As an Engineer in the American Express Cloud Solutions Engineering team, you will be

  • Taking part of an agile team driving the latest development practices and migration activities
  • Writing code, unit testing, conducting code reviews, build automations and adapt CICD
  • Identifying opportunities for adopting new technologies
  • Ability to manage your own time and working well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Identify technical debts in the platform and work with leads & product owner to triage based on criticality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of software development experience in a professional environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required
  • Good development experience in any one of the programming languages – Java, Javascript, Python, Go.
  • Knowledge in cloud native application patterns and tools, micro services architectures, application migrations to any cloud platform is plus.
  • Experience in using public cloud platform services, like AWS / Azure / GCP. Associate level certifications are plus.
  • Knowledge in  Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions is plus.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with offerings such as OpenShift / Kubernetes, Docker, Service mesh
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn through experience.
  • Excellent collaboration in a team environment and comfortable in group based working sessions.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
