Question

Education: Tier 1, CSE

Years of Experience: 5

Current CTC: 37 fixed + 1.5 JB + 3.7 PB

 

Microsoft Offer

Salary: 42,00,000

Stock bonus: USD 90,000 (4 years 25% each year)

Performance Bonus: Upto 20%

Sign-on bonus: 5,00,000

Relocation bonus: 2,35,000

Total comp (Salary + bonus + Stock):

1st year: 74 LPA

 

I felt stock grant could have been better, but without a competing offer i had no leverage.

 

I also didn't negotiate sign-on, thought 5L is max. hopefully others won't make the same mistake.

 

Timeline:

Day 1 → 3 rounds

Day 3 → 4th round (AA)

Day 3 → Selection and L62 confirmation from recruiter, and received an email asking for payslips and other information

Day 5 → Initial offer

Day 7 → Final offer

Day 7 → Offer released on careers portal

Day 9 → Signed the Offer

Day 9/10 → BGV started

Day 31 → BGV completed

Day 31 → Received mail to confirm Start date (I mailed hr to speed things up)
