Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of enterprise open-source software solutions, is seeking a motivated Associate Quality Engineer to join the Red Hat Certificate System QE team in Pune. About the Role
As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will work closely with Red Hat’s identity management solutions, ensuring the successful delivery of the Red Hat Certificate System. You will have the chance to contribute to the development of new automated and manual tests, analyze issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Creativity, adaptability, and a passion for learning will be essential to thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Development: Create, review, and improve test plans, including sprint planning for product planning processes.
- Automation: Develop new automated tests and maintain existing ones to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.
- Issue Resolution: Participate in root cause analysis and address issues that span multiple components and subsystems.
- Delivery: Take responsibility for successful testing of Red Hat Certificate System and ensure timely delivery.
- Risk Analysis: Analyze and prioritize quality risks, identifying the tests required to mitigate them.
- Collaboration: Contribute to upstream automation and provide demos of the latest solutions and technologies.
- Leadership Support: Assist the team lead in delegating tasks and supporting the team on Red Hat Certificate System projects.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or relevant professional experience.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to design and code complex test cases, and contribute to frameworks for test development and automation.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, spanning multiple components and subsystems, and creating reproducers.
- Solid experience with Linux.
- Deep knowledge of Python programming and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Ansible playbooks.
- Leadership: Ability to build strong relationships within the team and lead by example. Capable of helping establish consensus among stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Public Key Infrastructure (PKI): Familiarity with trends and technologies in Public Key Infrastructure.
- Containers: Experience or knowledge of container technologies.
